Garlic Health Benefits – Cure Common Disorders at Home

For thousands of years, in many cultures, garlic has been used as both food and medicine. The word garlic come from Old English garleac, meaning "speer leek." Throughout human history, garlic has been both sought after for its healing powers and shunned for its strong odor. Fortunately, now modern medicine is starting to embrace garlic as an alternative to prescription drugs.

Garlic is very rich in antioxidants. It has been shown to kill 23 types of bacteria. Vitamins in garlic, such as A, B, and C, stimulate the body to fight carcinogens and get rid of toxins. It may even aid in preventing certain types of cancer, such as stomach cancer. Garlic's sulfur compounds can regulate blood sugar metabolism, stimulate and detoxify the liver, as well as stimulate blood circulation and the nervous system.

Listed below are common medical disorders that can be eased or cured by garlic.

1. Asthma

The anti-inflammatory and anti-viral property of garlic make it a perfect remedy for asthma. A combination of one finely minced garlic clove and a teaspoon of fresh honey can help stop an attack if taken right away. Grind the garlic clove into paste and mix honey with it. Have a spoon of this 3 to 4 times a day. It will help prevent wheezing caused by asthma.

2. Bladder Infections

Raw garlic eaten regularly has been proven effective in killing bacteria responsible for recurrent bladder infections. To help cure a bladder infection, combine one teaspoon of olive oil and one teaspoon of garlic juice mixed in a glass of warm water. Drink this three times a day.

3. Colds

To help ward off or prevent a cold, eat raw, freshly-crushed garlic. Garlic has powerful anti viral antibiotic and anti fungal properties and boosts the immune system. It also many times will kill parasites in the intestines.

4. Fungus Infections

Garlic can help tremendously with athlete's foot or other types of common fungal infections. You can ward off any kind of fungal infection by adding two cloves of fresh garlic to your diet every day.

5. Indigestion

Two garlic pills after lunch and dinner will get rid of indigestion pretty quickly because it helps stimulate the secretion of digestive juices.

6. Nosebleeds

Form a paste made from crushed garlic to help cure a nosebleed. Then make the paste into a circle about the size of a half dollar. Place the paste on the instep of your right foot if your left nostril is bleeding or on your left foot if your right nostril is bleeding.

7. Plantar Warts

To help with plantar warts on the soles of your feet, squeeze the oil from a garlic capsule onto the wart and rub very well. Then place a clean sock on the affected foot. Make sure you repeat the process nightly until the wart disappears.

8. Toothache

Until you are able to see the Dentist, place a slice of peeled garlic on the affected tooth to alleviate the pain.

Garlic makes a wonderful health supplement. I take two garlic tablets each day, as it has many health benefits and healing properties.
